Christopher J. Gervais
Founder, President & CEO
Christopher is an environmental scientist and has graduate studies in marine biology and vertebrate paleontology. He worked as a field researcher, laboratory scientist and teacher at multiple natural history museums to put himself through his college years. Christopher’s first job out of college was a biology teacher and later as an administrator, at the time he was the youngest Principal for a public school in the state of Florida.
While a graduate student Christopher conducted fieldwork and research to study the Pleistocene Mega fauna fossils that were deposited over 10,000 years ago. His study of these extinct species informs his concerns for preserving biodiversity and was a significant factor in the founding of the WCFF. Christopher was one of the first scientists to conduct underwater vertebrate paleontology research. He is a professional, advanced scuba diver with over 2,500 logged dives. He is President of the International Exploration Society (IES), Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, member of the Ocean Geographic Society, friend of American Philosophical Society and a Board Member of the Pet Philanthropy Circle.

Chris is the founder on Xenon Global, a marketing, publicity and corporate strategy firm with offices in New York and Los Angeles. He is a specialist with start-ups and product launches and his clients include non-profits, major corporations and innovative entrepreneurs. He has 15 years of experience raising venture capital and acquiring corporate partnerships. Chris also has long-term relationships with multiple Members of Congress, U.S. Senators, Governors and diplomats.
A lifelong conservationist, he has worked as a marketing consultant for alternative energy companies and a recent public advocacy campaign in California to require cage-free farming. As a publicist for CEOs, Chris has helped land celebrity product placements and features on national television, leading lifestyle media outlets and industry trade magazines. He is an alumnus of the University of the Pennsylvania and a former Trustee of the World Trade Center Miami.
Emerson is a marketing and website professional with over 12 years of experience in the corporate sector. He holds a degree in Computer Graphics and Interactivity from University of Maryland and is a MBA candidate and an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute fellow at Cornell University. He has worked with many startup firms and non-profits. He is currently promoting professional culinary continuing education in sustainability, innovation, and student mentorship at the American Culinary Federation in Baltimore . Prior to ACF, he has worked at International Rescue Committee, where he created a grants and contracts handbook helping small non-profits in developing countries to obtain funding.
Alana is a second year graduate student at The New School working towards her M.S. in Environmental Policy & Sustainability Management. She has her B.A in Architecture from Miami University in Ohio. Her focus is on wildlife conservation and sustainable development but has interests in illegal wildlife trade and natural resource management. She is excited to work in the field with specialists to resolve the global imbalance between the natural and human worlds. Her passion for wildlife has taken her on travels to Kenya, South Africa, Costa Rica and Galapagos Islands.
Ms. Adair is the administrative executive to the Founder & President. She has over 30 years of experience as Office Manager with higher learning institutions.

Alan Kaplan is a conceptual image maker branding ideas through specialization of product development. He approaches corporate problem solving by creating a recognizable identity for advertising agencies and their clients for over 40 years. The underlying essence of his work is credibility and truth with an emphasis on humanity. Every brand has to have a face, and when you say an organization’s name, what comes to mind is a memorable image. Corporations like Citibank, Nokia, and Coca Cola have effectively humanized the look of their campaigns through Alan’s lens.
